Emmarcat dins de l’estratègia CATALONIA.AI de la Generalitat de Catalunya i coordinat pel centre tecnològic Eurecat, el CIDAI és una iniciativa publico privada que compta amb l’Ajuntament de Barcelona, el Barcelona Supercomputing Center, el Centre de Visió per Computador, NTT Data, la Fundació i2CAT, Microsoft, SAP, SDG Group, IDEAI-UPC i Huawei.
Una de les tasques del CIDAI consisteix en la detecció d'iniciatives, projectes i activitats que s'estan duent a terme a nivell global i que posen de manifest l'impacte de les tecnologies de dades i IA com a factor d'innovació i motor de transformació.

Durante las últimas semanas muchos medios se han hecho eco de las capacidades creativas de la Inteligencia Artificial. Se ha hablado de la capacidad creativa de las máquinas, y poco de la capacidad creativa del ser humano. A lo largo de la historia la creatividad se ha entendido de diferentes formas, se cree por ejemplo que el primer homínido con capacidad creativa fue el Homo Sapiens, que debido a algún cambio en su cortex frontal, evolucionó y adquirió la capacidad de crear pinturas utilizando pigmentos minerales, y después aprovechó esa capacidad para pintar escenas de caza o incluso imaginar animales. En la antigua Grecia, se consideraba la creatividad como un don divino y se atribuía a los dioses. Mas tarde, en la Edad Media, se pensaba que la creatividad era un proceso mecánico, una especie de combinación de elementos. Y durante el Renacimiento, la creatividad se entendía como una forma de expresión individual, considerándose una cualidad esencial del ser humano. Hoy en día definimos la creatividad como la facultad de crear, que consiste en producir algo nuevo, algo de la nada.
